LEARN TO QUILT – FUN WITH FATS by Brenda

This class is for everyone wanting to Learn to Quilt.  It is a quick and easy quilt that will teach you the fundamentals of picking fabric, the proper way to rotary cut, strip piecing, chain piecing, putting a quilt top together, basting and machine quilting and binding.  This 8 week class will guide you through from beginning to end!

CROSSING PATHS  by Brenda

Here is another pattern for my favorite rulers – the Quilt in a Day Flying Geese Rulers!  Using the large ruler this time, these geese will assemble in no time.  Fast and accurate – simply the best way to do them!  Learn how to assemble a quilt on point while creating this awesome quilt.  This is a great quilt for someone who has learned the basics of quiltmaking and would like to add a few more techniques to their skills.

A rag quilt is so much fun to do and it so comfy.  There is something about the texture created in the “ragging” process that makes these quilts loved so much.  Try one….they are addictive!

WILD ROSE QUILT by Robynn

This is a quilt as-you-go technique quilt that is assembled in just a few easy steps.  The top, back and quilting are done at the same time, and with no additional binding step, you have a finished quilt before you know it!

NOTE**  This class requires the purchase of the magazine “Easy Quilts-Spring 2008”, a Fons and Porter publication.  You will want to purchase it soon if you are considering taking this class.

So…did you purchase the Triangle in a Square Ruler for one of our other classes and haven’t used it since???  Here is another pattern designed by Brenda to utilize this ruler.  This quilt has uniquely shaped edges requiring bias binding.  You have to see it!!!

MASTERING MACHINE QUILTING RETREAT by Brenda

Many of you have asked us many times to put on a class based solely on machine quilting.  This quilt will start with the proper way to baste a quilt and will work through many machine quilting techniques such as grid quilting, feathers, templates, golden thread papers, decorative stitching and much more.  We will also have time to look at individual quilt tops and decide what type of quilting would enhance the quilt.  Quilting really does make the quilt!

Spring really is just around the corner and this wall quilt will brighten up your spirits with warm sunny thoughts while you work at piecing it together.  The smaller blocks arranged together to make up this wallhanging could be used individually to create smaller projects as well.  Bonus table runner and placemat patterns are included.  Lots of options with this pattern!

SEWING ROLL by Robynn

This small multi-pocket tote will keep all of your needles, pins and tiny scissors together so as not to go astray.  Add a couple of spools of thread; maybe a couple of buttons and safety pins and you have a great travel sewing kit for your on-the-go projects.

JOURNAL COVERS – EMBROIDERED OR NOT  by Brenda

This pattern is great for covering any book.  It will teach you how to measure the book and calculate the fabric required.  If you have an embroidery machine you will be able to personalize the cover using the wide array of designs available.  If you don’t have embroidery, personalize the book cover using fabric suitable.  Great for Christmas gifts for teachers, hostess gifts, kids, friends, scrap bookers….the possibilities are endless!

MEGA HOOP PILLOW WRAP by Brenda

This class will show you a variety of techniques!  We will start by learning how to cross hatch with twin needles, embroider with our Mega Hoop, bind our wrap, make buttonholes and finally sew on our buttons…all by machine!  This is a fantastic class to become more familiar with your embroidery machine.

Join us once a month to get up-to-date on all the new “treasures” that arrive in our store each month.  In addition, each month we will have a kit to complete a 7 ½” block.  Complete the block, bring it in the following month and receive the next block kit free.  If you miss a month, the kit only costs $10.  Club members will also have a special sale available only to attendees.  This class is full until September when we will take sign ups again for the following 12 months!

SOFTWARE CLUB by Alyson

This is open to anyone, even if you did not purchase your software in our store.  This is a demo only so you do not need to bring anything with you to the first class and all subsequent classes only require that you bring the project completed in the previous months class.   We create an embroidery design using a module in 3D or 4D Embroidery software and show you how to do it yourself. You will receive step-by-step instructions. Stitch it out to show at the next class, and that class is free.  

Class fee:  $10 (First class only.  Bring in your completed project and the next class is free!)

We are continuing our new style of embroidery club! Each class will introduce a new project/technique to use with your embroidery machine.  For those only interested in the Project and Embroidery Design disk, you may purchase the disk for $10.00.  What a bargain to get the project and all the designs for such an amazing price!  If you wish to take the class the fee will give you the Project and Design disk along with the kit for the class!  This is a class you MUST sign up and pay for in advance so we are able to prepare your disk and/or kit for you in advance.  All brands of embroidery machines are welcome.   This class fills quickly so make sure you get on the list early!

·         We require that all supplies be purchased at Sew Many Fabrics.  You will receive a 10% discount on all regularly priced items purchased for the class requirement.

·         You will be supplied with a supply list at the time of registration.  Please ensure that you have all the supplies listed when you come to each class.

·         Your machine must be in good working order.  Please bring your manual with you.  If you don’t have a machine, you may use one of ours.  Please advise prior to class so that we may have one set up for you.  You will be required to purchase needles and a bobbin for the store machines used.
