Harebrained Happenings is a Canadian company with a flare for cute critter designs. We cannot keep these wonderful patterns on the shelf. Embroidery Fun!!!

We are pleased to be presenting Hoopsisters Embroidablock of the month. A quilt totally done in the embroidery hoop! As long as you have a hoop that does a 5" block, you CAN DO this quilt. Check out their website at www.hoopsisters.com. Sign up now for this 10 month program. We will be announcing dates for the classes asap. This will run during the day, evening and Saturday. How's that for making it available to everyone!!! We look forward to having you join this fun class and getting a quilt totally finished with little effort.

We are now carrying Anita Goodesign embroidery collections. Each of the Anita Goodesign Collections is inspired by current industry trends. All of the designs in each design collection are sized from 3 " x 3" to as large as 7" x 12". Check out the collections on their website or come into the store to browse the catalog or see what we have in stock. We can order design collections and have them to you in as little as a week.

Anyone can quilt!!!

These girls created their first quilt on a summer retreat with Brenda. They did an awesome job and every one of them went home with their quilt completed. Excellent job, girls!!!

Check out the ladies who came out for the Getting Comfy with Curves class taught by guest instructor Eleanor Pastic. Eleanor has won several awards for her application of this technique to her intrique quilts. She won at the 21st National Juried Show 2009 for her Frog Pond quilt. The entire quilt is pieced using the comfy with curves technique. Eleanor's husband takes wonder nature pictures that Eleanor then turns into fabulous quilts.

Some of the things heard during the class were:

  • "This is so great and so easy. It can be used for all kinds of things like applique, curves in any quilt..."
  • "This is one of the only classes where the technique was so easy, I finished the project in class!"
  • "This abstract art quilt would make a great bag, and it will take no time to complete a second one for the other side."
  • "Eleanor is very knowledgeable about quilting and sewing, and has many wonderful stories and techniques to share!!!"
